Great Game Hunter [Kingdom Death] - WIP 3

Haha I think I just learned a new painting skill
more on that on a separate entry, but first...

I did the case on her belt in kaki a bit too much shadow at some place perhaps...
did her clothing with blue, but this time it's a mix of cold blue and blue wash from secret weapon, I think I am going somewhere with this, but really more on this later, the result is a almost teal blue, which I really like
the prime is dark grey with pure grey as highlight, so I just glaze on the mix.

Great Game Hunter [Kingdom Death] - WIP 2

I had been using secret weapon wash (Ruby) as the solution for thining the color, I like how good it is as a glaze (rather than wash) and as shown it's pretty even and smooth, when I drip the paint into the wash the paint got even out pretty fast, where with water the water drop kinda need some stiring

so I did a lot more highlighting to it, since I do successive highlighting (ie, keep on mixing lighter color in the darker shade pool) I need to finish off in one go as I can't retrack my step, not good. that's something I need to fix with my existing paint set

I like this picture, it felt epic

Did a lot with the skin tone, need to do some sharper highlight there, she looks fat now : p

applied another layer of brown to the leather straps, readying them for highlights

This shot was taken in the morning after with natural lighting.

Great Game Hunter [Kingdom Death] - WIP

Hi everyone

this is for the WAMP KD competition, I got her before the competition anouncement so I didn't get the discount : ( and I got it from CMON

it's hard to show the face properly in the other pic, so here's a close up, I like how it turns out, but overall the iris will look pale and small

This is where I am up to as of last night, see how the eye turns out very strange?
most of the base coat is done, can't resist doing the clothing on her chest, hi-res grey as white
I won't re-do the eyes (75% chance I won't)...

This is the back, the cloak is something of a pat on the back for myself (ignore the two dots of moldline please... note to self, basse coat then white dry brush to get all the moldlines =..=)
I did sucessive highlighting with thin paint, it comes out well, with so much practice I am pretty comfortable with red, brown, blue and skin tone haha

not so happy with the sculpt of the armored boots, but I think i did okay with it

So this is what I started with last night, I did the face first, at this light the eyes are pretty okay actually.

So the first task is to pin her to the base

That is a 0.03mm brass wire, I drilled a .04 hold on the bottom of her boot and stick it in

Actually it is easier to handle than I thought, but had to be very carful...

didn't drill straight up as I fear it would shot through the boot, so it was in at an angle,

the little bit of brass wire was shown, bit of black took care of it

The base is a secret weapon base, I had to coarsely fill down the middle bit coz the whole things looks more like moss than sand, or perhaps it was meant to be moss, anyway, I want the middle to be sand. Again, great base from secret weapon.

Mason Thornwarden [Reaper]

Not too happy on how thick the bow is, but the mini as a whole sure look good with everything glued together. Lesson learned: more accuracy when pinning, paint the parts together with the main body...

"That way" Cassie

Not really in the mood to write much, so here are the pictures

wip, but pretty much done,

so fast i surprised myself, redone the eyes twice, all in a day time

need to clean out a flash line on the staff, perhaps.
